ABOUT

Artist. Farmer. Landscaper. Teacher. Living on Georgetown Island, Maine Kate enjoys walking in the woods and on the beaches with her dogs. Live & Grow Farm is where Kate garners inspiration from her goatie goats, entertaining chickens and native plants.

For almost 20 years, Kate has created, managed and revamped gardens and landscapes with her primary business, Plant Manager Studio, LLC. Every landscaping season is focused on working with client preferences which involve selecting plants, installation, and maintaining their gardens which makes for happy clients and healthy gardens. Every winter, she can be found sitting at her drawing table focusing on depicting many of the plants she nourishes during the landscaping season, or better yet, ones she discovers while traveling.

Kate’s chosen medium of colored pencils allows her to capture the wonderful, fine, layered details of plants and make it seem as if an observer of her painting could pluck the subject right off of the paper.
