'Home' - Red Eyed Vireo Nest, Colored Pencil, Giclée Print
Walking the dogs one day, I found this bird's nest (I think it's a Red Eyed Vireo nest) hanging at eye level. Birds typically have two broods a summer and this nest had already been used; the birds had left it to raise the fledgelings and eventually make another nest for the second batch of babies. I felt drawn to the idea of the nest being a well-made snug home; and even though a transitory one, it was a Home.
